Before I could get funding to write, produce, and direct independent feature films, I started reality programming. I created the reality series America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties (AWBP). I enjoyed distribution success with it and was able to launch Slice of Americana Films. I consider myself a passionate screenwriter, producer and director. But I also like to create fun and sexy entertainment.

I have been working with the same publisher, Tim Beachum aka The SEO Bully, for almost 7 years now. At that time, he and I are contacted from time to time by friends or friends of friends outside the entertainment industry who want to get into the porn industry. The tone is usually the same. They have access to attractive talent, a nice location, and money to budget for the shoot.

I was in Virginia Beach at a bar with Tim over a few beers when the waitress kept giving me a little weird look. A couple of rounds later she asked me, “If I were really a porn producer from California?” Tim started laughing. He knows I don’t like it when people get the wrong information. That’s why he kept laughing.

I asked him where he heard that the owner of the place showed him trailers for America’s wildest bachelor parties and private fantasy strip shows that I had produced. She had recently won a thong contest battle on the beach and thought there was more money in adult entertainment. He got $500 for winning the contest and showing himself off to a rowdy crowd.

Like a scene from a bad movie, Tim introduces me to the owner and decides to laugh at my expense. The owner proposes to me to produce a pornographic film in a beach house that he owns. I always try to be polite in these situations with a “thanks, but no thanks” kind of response, especially when the buckets of ice cold beer, premium drinks, and food are on the house. I told him I didn’t do adult entertainment, not because of any moral stance, it just wasn’t my thing.

I had seen the California and Las Vegas editions of America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties on VOD and Fantasy Striptease Private Shows on DVD. She told me they were porn in her eyes. Tim knew what my answer was going to be, he has heard me tell other people many times. AWBP and Fantasy Striptease are on Amazon.com, that company does not sell porn. There are no sex scenes or simulated sex scenes depicted. AWBP is a fun reality series like Jersey Shore. There’s drinking, strippers, nudity, and tons of laughs. The famous “tequila booty shot” was invented on camera with AWBP:CA by us. Fantasy Striptease is what I like to call erotic cinema with good taste and high production value.

Private fantasy strip shows – sexy pin-up girls of your dreams come to life on the screen. Six beautifully shot vignettes blur the line between reality and fantasy. The sexy Little Red Riding Hood, the naughty schoolgirl, the sexy CEO, the summer girl, the Latina model in a bikini, and the hot red devil want to give you a private POV show you won’t forget.

Tastefully shot, you can watch it alone or with that special someone. This DVD is a modern take on vintage pin-up beauties. Added a sizzling soundtrack to enhance visual enjoyment. This is a romantic journey that you will see again and again. Hell, I know for a fact that the soundtrack is being played in cars from So Cal to New York because the artists on it are spreading the word.

Even my good friend Tim thinks those titles could fall under the category of porn.
I still don’t agree with that. When Playboy TV became interested in acquiring the rights to America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties, I had a meeting at their production offices in Los Angeles. The exec I met with liked the concept, wanted to go ahead BUT needed it to include sex scenes and a famous porn star cameo in every episode.

Honestly, I don’t know if I made the right decision to spend working with Playboy TV, after all, money is money. The general points of the deal were discussed which included 3 episodes guaranteed up front, if it worked out well they would produce 10 episodes each season on a fixed budget. He would act as a creative producer on a per-episode salary. His in-house production team and editing staff would do the rest. LA production offices are designed to be efficient and generate content. It is by no means dazzling in this place.

I’m still passing out offers to direct and produce adult entertainment for newcomers with cash and a couple of big companies in Chatsworth. I also pass offers to direct mainstream independent movies that I know won’t work. I guess I haven’t become a full mercenary for hire yet. I will not commit to work on another production company’s project unless I really like the script and the producers involved. That’s why I like to take ghostwriting and screenwriting jobs. My name only appears on the check.

It would be interesting to get feedback on what people think are the differences between erotic cinema, sexy reality show and porn. Or if there really is any difference like I think there is. I include nudity in independent films if it fits the story. My last two movies were about drug money, street power, and sex. So, it seemed natural to have a couple of raunchy scenes between the characters. One of my movies, Consignment, has one of the longest and highest rated striptease scenes in movie history.
