Tired of those Xbox 360 bugs? Well, you’ll be surprised because you don’t necessarily have to throw away that Xbox, some of those bugs can be fixed, if you know how. Red Ring of Death and E74 errors are the most common and most fixable errors on Xbox 360.

These errors appear when you reboot the system. To explain it better, let’s use an example: You are playing your game and suddenly it freezes, there is no way to unfreeze it except by restarting Xbox, but when you restart, you get an error message.

Red Ring of Death error – This is a GPU crash error, but it may not be fatal. In other words, the graphics processing unit has a malfunction. Several things can cause this malfunction. This could be caused by the thermal paste disintegrating and the chip coming loose on the motherboard. Another reason it fails is because the GPU starts touching another chip on the motherboard and causes it to fail. Many people try the towel trick, but this should be avoided as it could cause the system to overheat and lead to further chip or motherboard damage. Really, the best thing you can do is learn how to fix those Xbox 360 errors, or just go ahead and bite the bullet, and submit it to Microsoft.

The other common error is E74 Xbox 360 errors, which are somewhat easier to fix than Red Ring of Death. There are only three things that can cause this error and they can be easily fixed. First, you could have a loose or improperly inserted A/V cable. Disconnect it and clean the metal part with a soft dry cloth and replace it. This is the easiest way to troubleshoot and hopefully fix it.

If not, this could mean that the ANA/HANA chip has come loose or the GPU has failed like in the Red Ring of Death. Your Xbox warranty does not cover this failure and your only choice is to learn how to fix it yourself or send it to Microsoft and pay over $100 for the repair.

Don’t worry, there are ways to fix these errors yourself, and it costs a lot less. All you have to do is follow the repair steps and you’ll be well on your way to fixing those Xbox 360 errors.
