Article Marketing Tools

Article marketing tools became the topic of my lunch conversation with a client two weeks ago.

You may be wondering how it came up in the discussion.

She is a sales director for the company looking for a different marketing strategy for 2013 than the one she had used previously. She started by asking, “Can you really produce article marketing tools?

Find out my answer below…

I first reviewed your goals for using online marketing tools and why you chose content marketing as the answer to your goals.

After lunch over coffee, I pointed out that if he wanted to get a head start on promoting his web content, he should start by considering and then narrowing down a brainstorming aggregation of successful article marketing tools. I was only able to start the process at that meeting.

She asked for some examples and I told her some tips that I thought might help her get the most out of her article marketing efforts.

My first marketing tip:

Showing how other customers have benefited from your product will make your new visitors trust you and more likely to buy from you. Include a section with real life testimonials from buyers who have used your product and are satisfied with the results.

We had a continuous exchange of questions and answers as follows…

Article Marketing Tools Questions and Answers

Then she asked:

QUESTION: But how can I attract people to my content?

My ANSWER: Most articles, unless specifically removed, will remain on the internet forever. They can be used over and over again to drive new traffic to your website. You can also use the article marketing tool to write articles that highlight other articles you have written to increase your following and networks.

Keep your website fresh by constantly posting new content. Spiders index your site based on content. You will be indexed more frequently and be more visible if you continue to provide new content. The more content you post, the higher the search engines are likely to rank your site and the more visitors it will attract.

QUESTION: How can I make sure site visitors read my content?

ANSWER: Your articles must be well written. Carefully review your articles and make sure they reflect positively on your company, your product, and your principles. By doing so, your customers will see you in a positive light.

Use your headline as the attention grabber. The title is your only chance to entice readers to read the entire article. Say so in the title and then provide useful information with solutions to the problems. A compelling title is one of the most important aspects of an article. Article marketing is big business, so make sure you stand out from the crowd.

QUESTION: How about convincing readers that you know your topic?

ANSWER: You will know how you can succeed if you go ahead and become an expert. If you don’t know what you’re writing about, don’t do it, because then you’ll produce work that isn’t very good. Be open in your articles and include original content. When your post allows readers to relate to you, it allows them to build a deeper connection. This will enhance your reputation as the trusted resource in your field of expertise.

Tell your readers something important. The more they like your writing and articles, the more likely they are to come back again and again. Especially if they feel that you are offering them a lot of useful information.

If your audience includes readers with different skill levels, tailor your articles to all of those different skill levels. If you are marketing a technical product, be sure to include technical terms. Since not everyone will be familiar with the technical terms, please explain them in layman terms as well. Serving your entire audience will earn you credibility and respect.

QUESTION: What about the themes to choose?

ANSWER: Be strategic in formulating the talking points for your writing. Consider what topics you know about and develop a real specialty in a particular niche by writing about topics associated with how prospects can benefit from them in that market.

QUESTION: What can you tell me about content writing itself?

ANSWER: This one is easy… The information in your articles should be useful, relevant and of high quality. This is very important. Don’t try to fool your readers; they will know if your content is written to only serve you instead of providing genuine and useful information.

Put a lot of emotion into your writing, this will make you relatable. If you appear too salesy or too frigid, some people will avoid your site and you will lose business as a result.

One way to make your article more effective as a marketing tool is to include a ‘hook’ or ‘attention getter’. The author has numerous ways to attract attention depending on the nature of the content.

QUESTION: What is a good way to conclude your articles?

ANSWER: Have your articles take readers to the next step. Readers are astute enough to understand that a single article will not provide a complete solution to a problem or a complete explanation of a problem. Before you start writing your article, plan what you think your readers should do after reading it. If you can plant that in your article, you’ll have readers paying their money for the results.

Include a call to action that will have a powerful impact on your prospects. The end of the article should make the reader feel charged and ready to act. When you do this, your readers will be more likely to take the next step.

QUESTION: How about we include a Bio Box?

ANSWER: Create an author box that is appropriate and effective. Explain why you write about the things you do. You’ll want to make sure your main site is linked from the author box. Keep the information in your author box clear if you have different websites for different audiences, and make sure all links lead to the right site.

QUESTION: Tell me about the number of articles needed and distribution to article directories or blog networks.

ANSWER: Focus on the quantity and quality of each article you place on your site to be successful with your article marketing tools. This will help your readers when you can consistently provide them with useful content. Once you learn how to write your articles, it may become easier for you and you can produce articles more quickly.

Remember that a few exceptional items are more effective than a hundred pieces of fluff. Avoid submitting copies of other articles. Instead, look for marketing tools that allow you to manually submit higher-quality, keyword-filled marketing articles. Focus on sites that are relevant and trustworthy to the content you are submitting.

Try submitting a ton of articles. When posting to blog networks, craft your posts consistently. To properly promote a single keyword, you need to submit a large number of articles that contain the keyword. Submit multiple articles to directories and blog networks when you use a popular keyword. Then you need to make fifty posts on a private blog network if you want to rank relatively high.

Goal, goal, goal…

Having said that…

You should not flood the indexes with articles containing identical content. There are many article indexes that you should use in your article marketing efforts. It’s easy to be tempted to submit the same article over and over again to the myriad of indexes out there. Avoid doing this as search engines may discount your ranking.

conclusion

I hope our dialogue has helped. By the way, my client paid for lunch, so I guess she was pleased. By now he should be ready to try his own hand at article marketing. His focus should at least be on keeping up with the competition by continually working on his marketing strategy. Hard work and information can help you succeed in this business.
