Preparation loves success in any sport.

Before your tennis matches, make sure you are mentally prepared to play them.

Today I have 3 solid tips for you guys, which I want you to try before your next match and implement on match day.

“Match play is mental and only mentally strong players win their matches.”

Okay, let’s take a look at these great tips here.

1) The mental battle

Get your mind in order before you go out, doing some warrior meditation in a quiet place.

After you have your thoughts under control.

“Imagine playing your best tennis on the court, feel that excitement that comes with it, and also speak to yourself with some empowering affirmations.”

The goal here is to accept the challenge and prepare your mind for mental warfare. (Yells at Scott Bolan)

2) Review your battle plan

Okay, after you’ve got your mind ready for the game.

Take another look at your battle plan.

Again, imagine yourself executing your shots and doing it under pressure.

Tennis is a game of sensations and if your plan doesn’t feel right for that day, tweak it a bit and focus on doing it.

3) Have a plan B and C

You will need a backup plan, if your game plan doesn’t work for you during the start of the match.

So think of it all on paper.

Work out a strategy for your plan, until it is clear enough that you can feel it.

Actually, this is what the best players of all skill levels do.

I call this becoming a “Great strategist”.

It is as if your plan is so thought out that you relax on the court and play in the moment.

Some other tips, before I let you go.

Give your battle plan enough time to make it work.

5 games is enough, so if things don’t work out by then, switch to plan B and see what happens.

Those are 3 tips that I know can help you start to get better results in your match play.

We can summarize match play as mental warfare on a whole new level.

The true warriors of tennis are the players, who know it and come to their matches ready for battle.

Everyone wants to be there !!

While the other players fight in their careers.

So make sure you don’t become one of those players yourself.

Good luck with these tips and keep me posted on your results.
