Blogging is a great way to earn income and promote your business, or just have a place to talk about your passion.

If you do at least these three things, you can have a super successful blog. You can have a blog that attracts an audience that wants to read what you have to say and take your advice, and come back regularly for more.

All successful bloggers have three things in common:

  1. They blog regularly
  2. Post unique content
  3. They publish content focused on the audience.

One way to keep up with blogging is to create a blog posting calendar. A blog post calendar will factor in important upcoming events, product launches, and other topics, helping you work ahead to keep your blog full of interesting and relevant content.

To make a blog post schedule, you need to make a few determinations first, such as:

How often will you blog?

First determine how often you plan to post a blog post. This could be daily, weekly, or whatever your choice is. This helps you know how often you’ll need to write blog posts and when you’ll need to publish or schedule them.

Who are you blogging for?

Write a few different personas for your audience so you know who you’re writing blog posts for. It can help you stay focused better if you can look at these people when you’re ready to write.

What blog categories will you use?

Depending on your niche, you will need to choose a few categories that a post will fall under when you publish a blog. Distributing the categories can help you create more interesting content. For example, if you have a blog about Labrador Retrievers, some categories could be Rescued Labradors, Feeding, Exercise, Training, Chocolate Labradors, etc.

Are there upcoming events or product launches?

Are there upcoming events related to your niche? For example, is there a conference coming up, or is (or is someone else) launching a new product that’s perfect for your niche? Keeping up with these dates can help you create content that entices readers to purchase the item at launch.

Once you’ve determined this information, you can start brainstorming content ideas to coincide with upcoming events, product launches, and industry news. Among those types of blog posts, you can publish other types of posts such as educational, informative, interesting, and funny blog posts.
