Over the years, I’ve gotten some weird requests from people who want to cover a lot more than just pianos. Requests have been to cover strange elements or strange patterns to cover a traditional piano. I’ve taken a few moments to list some of my favorites in the paragraphs that follow.

Dog house cover. A woman in Wisconsin called and asked if we could make a custom waterproof cover that would fit her doghouse’s specifications. She and her husband had a disagreement about their ability to keep their dog as an inside dog due to the damage the dog had done in recent weeks to his belongings when they were both at work during the day. The solution was to leave the dog outside all day, but she was worried about the winter weather (both cold and rain) and she wanted us to make a cover that would enclose her dog house. We were able to talk her out of it and get her to upgrade her doghouse to one that is more appropriate for the climate and we never heard from them again.

Team logos. We have many requests to put team logos on the covers. We can put them on the front of the lid, directly above the keys, we can put them on the side lid, and we can put them in a larger configuration directly on top of the piano. Logo requests are relatively easy to do because most of the time we can get pretty good artwork. The tricky part of the application is when people ask us to tint the cover to match team colors. We’ve done them in black and red, blue and gold, red and white, and even purple and yellow. Staining a piano cover can be quite expensive, but the piano covers looked great.

House decoration. Probably the most common reason for an unconventional cover is when the customer wants a piano cover that matches the decor of a certain room in their home. These are the types of customers who tend not to have budget constraints, so they are willing to pay a good amount of money to get what they are looking for. Some of the weirdest have been pink and green colors, familiar checkered patterns, cool designs for ultra-modern music rooms, and even the request to make a piano cover to match the pattern on a sofa or loveseat. plazas.

We can accommodate special requests, but customers should remember that these custom piano covers require additional cost and will often cost five to eight times the cost of a traditional piano cover. Personally, I’m partial to a traditional black or brown vinyl cover, but I’ve never been considered a trendy guy.
