In the digital age, there is too much information on the web. You gather a text and copy/paste it into a document, which becomes your research. It requires little effort and does not increase your zenith of knowledge and insight.
In fact, the intelligence developed through research in the digital age is really being lost. There are too many programming languages and software tools. Students can be confused about which one to use and study in their research. On the other hand, supervisors are too busy to give their students time, so they get discouraged and spiral into depression.
Additionally, not all information found on the web can be considered authentic and reliable. On the other hand, good books are always written by expert authors and can always be considered excellent and forward looking.
Therefore, information-based research on the web in the digital age is not enough. That is the main reason why students do not gain wisdom and knowledge in this way.
In addition, although there are many software tools available on the web to increase students’ research, they cannot continue if they are not clear about the ideas and topic of their research.
So you have to draw a line here. Traditional print reading should be retained to some extent. Simply flipping through the text in digital format tires the eyes miserably and the students cannot concentrate properly.
In addition, supervisors must be in contact with their students and suggest and encourage the reading of printed material and allow them to ask questions that they should be able to answer rationally and accurately.
The interaction with the supervisor to propose a research topic for the students is important.
