The main focus of this article is to optimize your blog for content. Remember I said that if you can master all of these strategies, your home business opportunity will be flooded with prospects.

This step will probably be the easiest of all.

1. The first thing you need to do (if you use WordPress) is to get the Google Sitemap plugin. It is essentially an all-in-one SEO package. Helps you avoid duplicate content by optimizing titles for you. I don’t know if Blogger has this functionality.

2. Google ping-o-matic. I personally would install this on your toolbar. You want to use this resource after you have published some great content on your blog. This useful resource sends a message to search engines to let them know that your blog has been updated. The reason this is so powerful is because it helps eliminate wasted time on your part.

3. Another great way to spread your content is to use social bookmarking sites. One of my favorites is Only Wire 2.0. It allows you to go to a site that has 20+ major social media communities and send them a message to let them know about your great content. The only tedious task you have with this is to register on all the sites. However, this is a one-time thing.

A little side note here, if you are part of any other home based business communities, please post your content there as well.

4. Have a visible RSS feed on your blog. When visitors arrive, you want to make sure they can receive all your updates even if they don’t “physically” follow you on your blog.

Keep in mind that doing this overtime and consistently will rank you higher in Google for the keyword you think of, provided you’ve done a diligent job with your keyword research. I’m not saying that your home based business opportunity will boom overnight. What I am saying is that you are laying a firm foundation that is critical to the success of your business.

The fourth article will focus on the pages of your blog that you want to always keep intact.
