bikini swimsuits and bathing suits

The terms bikini-swimsuit, bathing suit, monokini, biquini, bathing suit, bathing suit, and bathing suit refer to clothing designed for the pool or for lounging on the beach, swimming in the sea, or playing sports aquatic.

Bathing suits are often made with an inner lining to prevent water from making the bathing suit see-through. Swimsuits come in many styles and the latest revolution comes from Miraclesuit swimsuits, an American company, which uses a modern fabric that is said to instantly make a woman look up to ten pounds lighter.

oh one piece swimsuit

One-piece swimsuit, also known as Maillot in French, is a form of swimsuit that comes in one piece and covers the hip, tummy and breast area and usually has straps that go over the shoulders. The one-piece swimsuit is typically very figure-hugging and flattering for women, and is often the swimsuit of choice for professional swimmers in the pool.

Until bikinis were introduced, almost all swimwear was one piece with various styles such as halter neck swimwear, surplice (which is a form of wrap style) and bandeau style swimwear. (Described below). The standard one-piece swimsuit has two straps and a scoop neckline or sometimes a plunge effect that shows more of the boobs. Other styles will have a very low back to show off a little more.

oh Boy’s halter neckline short leg swimsuit

Some one-piece swimsuits come with halter necks where the straps tie around the neck and meet at the front of the swimsuit leaving more of the back exposed. This is a very sexy style that gives great support to your bust. One style that has been reintroduced, with a very 1930s vibe, is the boys leg one piece which looks like a classic one piece with a boy shorts leg.

oh surplice swim top

The one-piece surplice has a sophisticated, almost toga-like feel, with a diagonal twill piece that’s great for hiding a slight paunch. Some women looking for maternity swimwear will choose the swimwear, which has a tight sundress feel and looks very sweet, whether you are pregnant or not.

oh swimsuit headband

The Bandeau style of swimwear is very elegant and very French. A strapless swimsuit with pleats and some have straps or straps for added support and security.

oh Bikini

The bikini, or bikini swimsuit, or two-piece swimsuit, as it is sometimes known, is much more revealing than the one-piece swimsuit and is often preferred by younger women. One piece covers the breasts while the other covers the butt and pelvic area.
The bikini was a form of swimsuit that originated in the Greco-Roman era. Floor mosaics from the time of Emperor Diocletian (286-305 AD) at the Villa Romana del Casale, Sicily, show women in bikinis as clothing. The ‘Bikini Girls’, as they are known, are shown working out in clothes that to the modern viewer are, in fact, bikinis.

However, the modern bikini swimsuit was invented by a French engineer named Louis Réard in 1946. The bikini outraged many people when it began appearing on French beaches in 1947. Réard had named his swimsuit style after Bikini Atoll in the Pacific, which was the site of a nuclear weapons test in mid-1946. Réard believed that the burst of emotion created by the bikini would be like a nuclear device, and he wasn’t far wrong. After the introduction, Réard’s business became very successful. In advertisements, Réard kept the bikini mystique alive by stating that a two-piece suit was not a true bikini “unless you could pass it off as a wedding ring”.

The bikini is said to be the most popular women’s beachwear in the world. According to Olivier Saillard, the French fashion historian, who said that it is due “to the power of women, and not to the power of fashion”, adding that “the emancipation of swimwear has always been linked to the emancipation of the woman”.

The bikini became the official uniform, in 1994, of the women’s Olympic beach volleyball. It was a turning point for female sexuality and the sports world and gave a huge increase in the number of spectators, one can only suspect that the majority were men.

oh bikini underwear

Bikini underwear is worn by both men and women and is just as revealing as bikini swimwear bottoms. Women’s bikinis are effectively any type of skimpy, form-fitting underwear that is smaller than traditional panties or briefs. Men’s bikini underwear is smaller and more revealing than men’s briefs.

oh Monokini

The monokini, or as it is sometimes known, the topless swimsuit or unikini, is a form of swimsuit that has only a bikini bottom, thus leaving the breasts exposed. This style of swimsuit is credited to American fashion designer Rudi Gernreich who, in 1964, made it popular and is said to have been the first to use the term monokini.

Monokinis are only for the most daring women and for those beaches where topless bathing is allowed.
Monokinis come in various styles, with some having a fully covered butt and others having a thong style back. In more recent years, the monokini has been seen cut to the waist with high-cut legs.

oh bikini tops

Bikini tops come in many styles, including a halter neck that offers more coverage and support, the strapless bandeau style, which is a rectangular strip of fabric that covers the breasts and has the effect of reducing large breasts. Then there is the bikini top with cups similar to a push-up bra or the more traditional triangle cups that lift and shape the breasts.

Other variations of the bikini style are the camikini, which consists of a tank top and bikini bottom, the seekini, which is a sheer bikini, and the tankini, which consists of a tank top and bikini bottom.

oh swimwear covers

A swimsuit cover up is a simple and sexy way to make yourself look glamorous and stand out on the beach. These beautiful additions to your swimwear wardrobe come in many forms, such as the sarong, or a small triangle of fabric that ties at the hips, or the more modest tunics or dainty dress styles.

Nowadays, many women who go on vacation prefer to wear reversible swimsuits to reduce luggage and have a wide wardrobe variety. A popular brand of reversible swimsuits is Moontide from New Zealand.
